I just want to be smothered with affection Without having to waste any protection In my favorite place I feel on a sound stage with words written for the modern age Anytime can be your time to go Young, middle-aged or old Anytime can be your time to go All your knowledge still you never know I don't want there to be any questions Like a fiber filled digestion All the trees you see looking pretty Will one day lose their leaves Anytime can be your time to go Young, middle-aged or old Anytime can be your time to go All your knowledge still you never know When you die god will take you back No matter what religion you are Until then won't you be my afterlife At the smile at the end of the slope

Louise, Queen of Greenwood, Windy Hell, lives by herself Old Beauty in the same clothes That she's worn since the '70s I bet you wish life weren't so easy When you were young Now all you got is your windy hill That you look down from The graveyard looks so lively All the bodies are with company Watering all her plants as if her children A love that won't bite back I bet you wish life weren't so easy When you were young Now all you got is your windy hill That you look down from All the gravestones tell stories Of people she may have known One day she'll be just another Forgotten gravestone Louise, knows no technology Has got no sense of the modern age Old leather bound library Her Aunt gave her, she's never read a page I bet you wish life weren't so easy When you were young Now all you got is your windy hill That you look down from

Put your whole life in Take your whole life out Take all your clothes and shake the money out Because it's the American way To debt your whole life a way Do the poor man's dance The poor man's dance The poor man's dance The d-d-d-dance The market's going down The wars are going on No matter who's president Nothing changes in this town Because it's the American way To debt your whole life away Do the poor man's dance The poor man's dance The poor man's dance The d-d-d-dance It happened in Rome The Mayans and the Greeks The brainwashing Turning citizens into sheep Because it's the American way To dance your whole life away Do the poor man's dance The poor man's dance The poor man's dance The d-d-d-dance

I admit myself a sinner I admit myself a fool I call myself a human that's no better than a mule Like a herdsman in the desert I kill for my food Survival my priority over those animals I rule Then the city looked like chins that were poking from the bay Compacted concrete that will tumble down someday In the back of a taxi I saw a woman checking her phone As if a text message would cure her from feeling alone O' morning, O' sleep Why must you play games with me? O' daylight, O' time Why must you mess with my mind? I saw a hipster couple sitting down with a friend It was brunch on Sunday but only drinks put in them They were sitting around talking about art and what it all means They're quite good at dressing up but they never create a thing In the sewers of the city I rode upon a train People sitting silently calling one man insane Who stood there preaching Jesus and how he could save They just put their heads in their New York Times and went on with their days O' morning, O' sleep Why must you play games with me? O' daylight, O' time Why must you mess with my mind? I came upon a women that I thought to make my own Eyes of brown hair of dark carmel golden stone I, just a wanderer in need of some repair Then she smiled at me honestly I knew it was sincere So I brought her back to my room and I laid her on my bed I felt love in my body but weakness in my legs I said "Baby this world is nothing just be glad there's you and I." Then we sat watching the baptism sent from the overcast sky O' morning, O' sleep Why must you play games with me? O' daylight, O' time Why must you mess with my mind?

Even Caesar cried when Pompey died Though no one did understand The death of a dream is the death of a man Like war is the death of land All these trees look like modern art Modern environmental cars That represent everything we are And believe, as long as you believe It was Gabriel who let the Devil expel Down in the Garden of Eden Now I have my sin my fear of Hell God, we better be even All these trees look like modern art Modern environmental cars That represent everything we are And believe, as long as you believe All that you own Is half of what you owe Do you recall that Abraham Carried with a mistress? He sent of into the desert land Said "Baby don't you ever repeat this." All these trees look like modern art Modern environmental cars That represent everything we are And believe, as long as you believe All that you own is half of what you owe All that you own is half of what you owe All you own baby is half of what you owe

The City 03:13
Cigarette butts on the side of the street That the city sweepers swipe while the citizens sleep All of our reasons for leaving our homes Is the allegory moon made of alabaster stone Why try when you're going to die Just call it living without being alive Just another burnt out bulb in the city lights Surface meets surface trying to pretend we're perfect Only speaking in sounds of the strophic Let's not get too personal just tell me everything you know Then act like we already know this Why try when you're going to die Just call it living without being alive Just another burnt out bulb in the city lights War for sure can change people's actions but it won't ever change their beliefs They might accept our power our money and our two towers But they won't ever accept our democracy Why try when you're going to die Just call it living without being alive Just another burnt out bulb in the city lights
7.
I am just like you and by that I mean I just don't know Though I say all the right words and wear all the right clothes All of that is just a disguise Keeping you from looking in my eyes Because they don't lie We're playing in the same game you're a pawn and I'm a rook Following the orders of our chosen book I move three spots to your side Our similarities collide They always do It's odds and ends, ends and odds We're both the same person just believe in different gods Mine is cruel and yours is sly I know what I hate but I just don't know why I wonder what I'd be if I was born in a different time In a different nation drinking a different kind of religious wine Would I hate what I am now? Raised in a different town It's odds and ends, ends and odds We're both the same person just believe in different gods Mine is cruel and yours is sly I know what I hate but I just don't know why Maybe it's all a disguise keeping us to realize That we are just like the earth We are just like the grass and the sky It's odds and ends, ends and odds We're both the same person just believe in different gods Mine is cruel and yours is sly I know what I hate but I just don't know why

Was a warm rainy day When I first kiss Rene' My clothes, three days worn The air was filled with car horns You've got the heart He's got the brains And you're way too emotional to win that game You've got the charm He's got the looks You keep mistaking magazines for the good book Now I ain't going to lie to you I brought Rene' back to my room And in my bed is where we laid But nothing much happened but a little foreplay You've got the heart He's got the brains And you're way too emotional to win that game You've got the charm He's got the looks You keep mistaking magazines for the good book Da da da da da da loves a drag I'm sick of just being thankful for what I have Da da da da da da and it won't stop Oh, lord oh, lord oh, lord when will you kick me off Rene' and I now we had plans To hang out the very next weekend At my friends gallery opening We were going to go just to be seen She cancelled on me in the end So I went as my only friend But guess who I saw there holding hands? Rene' and my old friend Ben You've got the heart He's got the brains And you're way too emotional to win that game You've got the charm He's got the looks You keep mistaking magazines for the good book Da da da da da da loves a drag I'm sick of just being thankful for what I have Da da da da da da and it won't stop Oh, lord oh, lord oh, lord when will you kick me off

David's in the valley and he's dancing for the lord It's cold outside and he's only wearing bedtime shorts He says how much longer must I prove my remorse St. Augasteine is yelling David you were born with that sin And war is the answer when the just cause begins Singing once is praying twice so sing baby, sing, sing, sing God is on the mountain screaming what have you done I've given you a planet and you've turned it to ruin All you people are living without thinking what you're doing Moses from the Nile is screaming "God speak to me. You through us on the Earth and gave us nothing to believe. Sourounded us with war, death and misery." God says to Moses "I don't have to explain a thing. One day I was bored I created the heavens and the seas. Put pesants on the planet then created depression and disease." "God if that's the case then you should be ashamed We're all struggeling and trying to deal with our pain Won't you at least ocome out to hear our sad complaints." Judas now is screaming "Hey I'm not that bad. There are no repercussions and I did with what I had. And I spent all my money on a casino on the promise land." Mary Magdeline is singing once "I'm not that loose. There's no work for a women and I had to make use. And Judas spent some of that money on me too." God oh God what do I do to make it to heaven? I'm a good ole' boy 4,5,6,7 God oh God what do I do to make it to heaven? God oh God what do I do to make it to heaven? I repent! I repent! 8,9,10,11 God oh God what do I do to make it to heaven?
